The Landed – Friends

For all those stressing out about the music scene near the Sunshine Coast, fear not, The Landed have come to save the day.

The Colchester quartet are here to show off with their latest single, Friends, and given the success of their previous releases, I can only imagine what this song will do for their profile.

Despite Friend being the title track of their debut EP, the boys have already had success with mainstream radio play. Tom Robinson from 6 Music happily adopted last single SHE as part of his Mixtape segment, whilst Huw Stephens made Taking You Out his BBC Introducing Track of the Week recently.

The opening guitar riff may make you believe that The Kooks have snuck their way into your headphones, and will instantly have you dreaming for long summer days. With influences from just about everywhere and sounding like a lovechild of the 80’s and the noughties rock and indie scenes, Friends will instantly have you singing along with a sense of familiarity and nostalgia. If you’re looking for a catchy summertime song this year, this could very well be for you.

You can stream Friends on Soundcloud now.
