Craig David Presents TS5 @ Electric Brixton, London

In the middle of one of the biggest comebacks the UK music industry has ever seen, Craig David was one of the many artists to be invited to take part in this years Brit’s Week War Child. These small intimate shows take place in the lead up to the Brit Awards, with fans getting hold of tickets by donating to the inspirational charity.

2017 see’s the likes of Tinie Tempah, Biffy Clyro, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, The 1975 and Basement Jaxx taking to venues across London, and last night housed R’n’B legend Craig David at Electric Brixton.

The 34 year old musician brought his iconic TS5 DJ set to the 1.5k capacity venue in South London, and there wasn’t a still body to be found when he dropped huge hits like 7 DaysWhen The Bassline Drops and Ain’t Giving Up.

Bursting on to the stage with his debut Rewind, Craig goes on to incorporate many old club classics into his 90 minute set, and chucks in just the right amount of Sean Paul, TLC and Stormzy, alongside his own hits. A favourite among the crowd is when he drops Drake’s One Dance, but fills the vocals with his 2001 single Rendezvous. Genius.

Although the majority of the audience are proabably there to hear the old classics like Walking Away and Fill Me In, that doesn’t mean Craig loses the crowds attention when the latest tracks fill the speakers. Warm It Up (taken from last years Following My Intuition) is a definite crowd pleaser, and I for one am sure to be questioning what moves I was throwing across the dance floor going by the ache in my legs today.

It was only a year ago Craig David went viral with his Fill Me In / Where Are U Now mash-up on BBC Radio 1Xtra, and now you can find that track recorded on a number one album with the Southampton born singer is selling out arena’s and securing a second Ibiza summer residency.

If you wanna do the right thing, grab some of the last tickets left for his UK tour kicking off next month, and you can thank me later.
